The key to good Buffalo Wings is how you prepare them as well as the ingredients and the handling of the wings. The most successful wings served up here in Buffalo are what they call “Grade A Grinders.” Fresh wings that are very large and meaty. Usually, you cannot get them in a frozen package, but can get them from a poultry dealer. Once you find them make sure they are absolutely fresh.

Wash them in cold water, split them at the joint and remove the tips. Place them on a rack on a pan and refrigerate overnight to let the blood and water drain out of the wings. THIS IS A REAL KEY. Drying the wings under refrigeration will help to make them a much crispier product, once deep fried.

Next, use a deep fryer or a very heavy deep pot with a thermometer and add the oil. Peanut oil is very good, or a commercial product such as can be found at a restaurant cash and carry called Mel Fry.

Heat the oil up SLOWLY, to 365 degrees F, and depending on the size of the fryer, deep fry the dry wings 6 to 8 minutes in small batches, until thoroughly done and golden brown. Hold the cooked wings in a warm oven if necessary.

A combination of melted margarine and hot sauce in the ratio of 1 part margarine to 3 parts hot sauce will add the right zing. The key here is to add just enough sauce to coat the wings - the more sauce you add, the hotter they will be.

For the very brave, 1 part margarine to 3 parts hot sauce and 1 part Tabasco is referred to as “Suicidal Wings” by the late and dear Don Bellissimo, who owned the Anchor Bar.

Working quickly, place the deep fried wings in a large bowl and add the sauce mixture, shaking to coat them. There are many good hot sauces to use; the one they use is either Durkee Franks Red Hot Sauce or Wingers Original, again found in a restaurant cash and carry.

Celery sticks and chunky blue cheese dressing (Ken’’s Buffalo Style Blue Cheese is a popular one) and plenty of napkins.

So “George” is going to fix it….

I suppose it’s a good thing that we’re looking at the results of many folks being “duped” into buying homes that are far beyond their means. You can use all the excuses that you want, about, “Read the fine print” and “Nobody forced them to buy with those terms”, but it’s all about what’s been going on in this country for quite some time.

The “Big Money” guys have been playing in their “think tanks” for quite a while. They spend endless hours figuring ways to get the “working man” to give up his hard earned money. I think that they truly have managed to exploit the American workers without them even knowing it. The “middle class” in America has been bombarded with media mumbo jumbo, controlled by “big money”, that has led them to believe that, someday, they’ll be able to settle down and relax in their little retirement nest. Talk to some of the seniors in our country that have found themselves in the “doughnut hole” of the prescription drug program. Ask them how relaxed they are.

Employer sponsored retirement programs are disappearing for the blue collar workers of America. They gave them the 401k instead. Most of the “Big Boys” force their employees to invest the “company match” in the sponsoring company. Pretty good way to make your corporation grow, don’t you think? Now the worker is forced into being invested in the company they work for, hoping that the value of the company grows, and then finding themselves in a position that doesn’t allow them to properly negotiate benefits because the company is crying “poor”. Unions in this country didn’t lose their strength because they demanded too much; they lost it because the “money” slowly turned them into Republicans. It’s pretty sad when the executives of corporations often receive “lump sum” payments that exceed the total income of an employee that has been with the company for over 30 years.

Let’s get back to “George” and his plan to save the homes of thousands of Americans. Let’s see… he wants to “suggest” that the mortgage companies refinance loans that have variable or sub-prime rates. This supposedly will allow people to afford their payments. Of course the “Big Money” wants the homeowner to keep paying, even at lower rates. What do they want with all these homes? The home market is going down because the younger workers of America can’t afford to purchase homes at the asking prices in today’s market. How can someone afford to purchase a home, making $15 - $20 /hour, from someone who was making $30+/hr when they purchased it? To top it off, if folks do get the chance to refinance, I’m pretty sure they’ll end up losing any equity they currently have and extending the term of the loan. Sure the payments will be lower but in the long run, they’ll still end up paying more. This is only going to end up being a “backdoor bailout” of the financial institutions.

I suggest that anyone faced with these unfortunate circumstances looks closely at all the options. If you don’t believe me, just watch the television and your mail. I’m sure that they’ll have fewer advertisements for bankruptcy and more for refinancing. If you believe in what they’re saying, you get what you deserve. The bankruptcy laws have been around for a long time. I just don’t think that the “big money” folks want them to be used at this time. There’s still fish in the pond. Many of the people that choose to “re-fi” will find themselves in Bankruptcy Court down the road, but not until they’ve been drained of even more of their hard earned money. Somebody better snap their fingers real loud and wake America up from this hypnotic trance called “The American Dream”.

Don’t even let me get started about China!

It doesn’t seem like there’s much agreement about exactly what’s going on today in America. If you listen to the MSM (Main Stream Media), you’d think that it’s really no big deal. Well folks, we’re not heading for a recession, we’re in one. You see, the definition of “Recession in America” is a little bit different than how the rest of the world defines it. In the United States the official designation of recessions is done by the business-cycle dating committee of the National Bureau of Economic Research.

The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) is a “private, nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization” dedicated to studying the science and empirics of economics, especially the American economy. It is “committed to undertaking and disseminating unbiased economic research among public policymakers, business professionals, and the academic community.” It publishes NBER Working Papers and books. The NBER is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts with branch offices in Palo Alto, California, and New York City.

I’m sure that most of the folks on this commitee drive better cars, and live in nicer homes, than most of us.

It doesn’t take a genius to see that things just are not very “rosy” in the good old USA, or the world for that matter. Our “elected” politicians keep up their determination of pushing “our way or the highway” on the rest of the world. The only reason anybody has anything to do with “Peace Talks” is so that they can get the U.S. to send them money. We’ll even borrow money from our former enemies to fund our promises of aid if we can’t print enough of our own. It just seems crazy.

The bottom line is that “Big Money” owns just about everything that we see, hear and feel every day. They really don’t care much about the millions of Americans that are finding that they can’t gain any ground. It doesn’t affect them. They’ve been working on this ever since the TV became the babysitter and “Mom” had to get a job to make ends meet.

All you have to do is look around. Look at the cost of goods. Look at the cost of insurance. Do some simple math. The common man is just not able to keep up anymore….

And “they” really don’t care.

My name is Ron Paul, and I’m the only pro-gun, pro-Constitution candidate running for the Republican nomination for president of the United States.

The fact is, I believe those of us who support gun rights and the Constitution need to take a stand NOW, before it’s too late.

You see, if you listen to many politicians in Washington, the gun control crowd, and their mouthpieces in the “mainstream” media, you’d think the reason for our crime problem is a lack of tough (and un-Constitutional) gun-control legislation.

In the next couple of weeks, George W. Bush will prove that the last 30 years of supply-side, free market economics was nothing more than a overripe pile of horse manure. In fact, right now, the B-52s are being loaded with pallets-full of freshly-minted hundred dollar bills which will be air-dropped “from sea to shining sea” as soon as King George gives the nod.

How long are we, as Americans, going to take this? This country is being taken over by a “money machine”. Money, the root of all evil. Sure we all want some. We’d even like to have a little extra now and then. Mom used to call it “Pin Money”. It seems like those days may be over for a lot of folks. If you’re reading this and thinking, “Great, another whining liberal”, let me set you straight.I don’t label myself a Liberal, Conservative, Moderate, Republican, Democrat, Independent or any other term you may use to categorize everyone you don’t agree with. I’m an American and damn proud of it.
Don’t get me wrong. I’ve been duped just like everyone else. I’ve been a victim of a good job, my own home, a functional family, and all the other things that make up the core of the “American Dream”. I say “victim” because while I’ve been enjoying myself, America has been seized by a political system that is no longer “By the People, For the People”. The “Special Interest” groups that lobby our politicians have managed to get a foothold that may be very hard to break. I believe we may still have time, before the next election, to make whomever gets elected understand that we will not tolerate leaders that are deaf to the American public.
You’ve all heard the saying, “The Rich Get Richer”. It’s not just a rumor anymore.

If what I’ve said so far has made you think…. just a little, that this country may be in need of a little “Attitude Adjustment”, then come on in and look around. You just might find something that you can relate to. If you don’t…well then you can go back to watching TV or getting your news from YouTube.
